This six-month project involved in-depth research for a family seeking to uncover their ancestor’s experiences during the American  Civil War. The work began with genealogical research to identify key names, dates, and locations, followed by the acquisition of official military records from the U.S. National Archives and local repositories to confirm service details. To bring the story to life, we collaborated with local history organizations and military genealogy groups to explore the history of the ancestor’s Union unit, including battles fought, roles held, and daily military life. The final report included maps, historical context, and curated resources to support deeper understanding.
